Direct flight Brasov GHV – Katowice KTW

Date of 31 March 2026, marks the inauguration of the flight operated by Wizz Air on the route Brașov - Katowice (KTW) from Brașov International Airport- Ghimbav.

This connection will be operated three times a week from Brașov, on Tuesdays, Thursday and Saturday, offering a direct link between central Romania and southern Poland.

By this route, passengers from the Brașov area benefit from direct access to Katowice Airport, un important hub regional, and polish tourists will reach the heart of Romania more easily. The connection creates additional opportunities for tourism and business travel.

At the inauguration of this flight, along with other local officials, was also participated the honorary consul of Poland in Brasov, Mr. Janusz Szalinski, who supported the importance of this new air line connection between Brașov and Poland, in terms of tourism, economic but also cultural.

Promotion of the publication "Poland-Romania: Economic and investment cooperation"

On 19 February, Polish-Romanian Bilateral Chamber of Commerce and Industry, organized an event to promote the publication "Poland-Romania. Economic and Investment Cooperation". The purpose of the publication "Poland-Romania. Economic and Investment Cooperation" is to highlight the strategic importance of bilateral relations between Poland and Romania, with particular emphasis on sectors such as infrastructure, transportation, logistics, energy and agro-food industry.

The Ambassador of the Republic of Poland in Romania - Paweł Soloch, the executive director of the Polish-Romanian Bilateral Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Adam Sobieszkoda, each delivered a speech highlighting the strategic role of modern infrastructure for accelerating cooperation between the two largest economies in Central and Eastern Europe – Romania and Poland. The Romanian authorities were represented by Gabriel-Bogdan Ștețco, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Economy, Digital Business, Entrepreneurship and Tourism.

 Representatives of the public sector and the business environment from both countries analyzed the perspectives through which the development and modernization of transport networks can support the cooperation between Romania and Poland, but they also debated the economic relations between Romania and Poland, current trends, challenges and prospects. The publication's partners included Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego, KPMG, Raben, CTP Romania, VGP Romania, Frog/Froo, PKO Bank Polski and Track Tec.

Polish-Romanian Solidarity Day

On 3 March 2026, we celebrate "Polish-Romanian Solidarity Day”. Established at the initiative of the Diplomacies of the two states, Romanian-Polish Solidarity Day" is a landmark moment of the bilateral calendar, with a deep symbolic meaning, a reflection of the historical friendship between the two states and the common commitment to strengthen the bilateral Strategic Partnership. The two states remain in solidarity and reaffirm their mutual commitment to supporting and strengthening regional resilience, of Euro-Atlantic identity, protecting democracy, promoting peace and respecting fundamental rights, in accordance with the rules of international law.

On this occasion, The Embassy of Poland in Bucharest together with the Cultural Institute organized a vibrant jazz program at the George Enescu Philharmonic, classical music and original compositions, performed with sophistication by the Atom String Quartet, along with their special guest, the pianist Cătălin Răducanu.

At the Royal Castle in Warsaw, in the presence of many distinguished guests, the romanian quartet Arcadia Quartet will also perform.

Polish participation at the Alpin Film Festival Brasov – 2025

Alpin Film Festival is an international cultural event dedicated to the film, book and photography, who aims to promote mountain civilization through its heritage values, touristic, ecology, economic, educational and sports. From 2020, Alpin Film Festival is part of the prestigious International Alliance for Mountain Film (IAMF), next to others 27 of film events in 20 of countries on five continents.

The film "In the name of the earth", nominated to Oscar awards 2024 and the exhibition about the Tatra Mountains "nature and culture: Mountains that inspire ”are the polish elements of this year's Alpin Film Festival program. The film "In the name of the earth" (2023, 114 min., regia: Dorota Kobiel Welchman, Hugh Welchman can be watched on 19 September, from 19.30 at Cinema One in Brasov (free entry).

The exhibition "nature and culture: Mountains that inspire ”made by the Tatra Museum from Zakopane in collaboration with the County Museum of History Brasov will be presented in the period: 18 September-31 October in Piata Sfatului Brasov; 20 September-31 October at the Bran National Museum.

Poland at the Brasov Jazz&Blues Festival

Magda Magic Piskorczyk: a combination of blues, jazz, gospel, soul and world music in a deeply personal and authentic manner. The polish artist comes for the first time in Romania at Brasov Jazz & Blues Festival, that will take place between 14-17 August.

With a strong voice and an unmistakable style, Magda Magic Piskorczyk is an electrifying presence on the european music scene.

Along the career, it was 3 or nominated to the FryDeryk award Awards, the most important and prestigious prize of the polish phonographic industry, in the category of the album of the year („Magda Live”, "Afro Groove" and "Mahalia") and divided the scene with legends like Bob Margolin or Billy Gibson.

Magda is known for intense live interpretations, full of passion and energy, but also for the ability to play at multiple instruments.

Nicknamed in France "the black voice in the white suit ", was appointed by 9 or the vocalist of the year and was semi -finalist at the prestigious International Blues Challenge (Memphis, YOUR).

Her shows electriates: between joy, melancholy and depth, Magda creates a real connection with the public - with humor, energy and sincere emotion. Her music is unique, original and magical.

The artist will be on stage in Sf . Ioan Square in Brasov on Friday, 15 August, the hour 18.30.

Film and History Festival 2025

Polish participation at the Film and History Festival in Râșnov includes, masterpiece of mute cinema with black pole in the main role, live accompanied by the music of the Amphitrio band, the feature film "white courage", the documentary "My world of gray" and the exhibition "Polish and Romanian who have changed the world" are the polish elements in this year's edition of the Film and History Festival, that will take place between 8-24 August.

This festival runs in several locations, including Râșnov, Brașov and Feldioara, and focus on movies and history.

The festival (FTIR) appeared in the year 2009 from the desire to capitalize on an important chapter of local and world cinema, but also from the need to produce in the Romanian public space discussions about themes whose temporal impact exceeds the ephemerality of the moment..

Wrocław Baroque ensemble in concert in Brasov

We invite you to a polish baroque evening, interpreted masterfully by the prestigious Wrocław Baroque ensemble, resident of the Poland National Music Forum, under the baton of the appreciated conductor Andrzej Kosendiak.

 The program includes valuable works from polish baroque heritage, signed by:

 Marcin Józef żebrowski - "Vespers in the Visit of the Virgin Mary", an opposite of a solemn beauty, distinguished with the Fryderyk award 2023 and nominated to opposite Klassik

 Grzegorz Gerwazy Gorczycki - "Completorium", One of the Baroque sacred masterpieces in Central Europe, composed by the one nicknamed "Handel of Poland"

 The event takes place as part of the ICon Arts Festival 2025, and brings old sounds to Brasov, refined, in an exceptional interpretation.

The first official visit of the representatives of the Polish Union from Bucharest

Consulate Poland in Brasov, had the great pleasure to receive the visit of the representatives of the Polish Union in Bucharest. Group represented by Mr. President Bogdan Polipciuc, they was in Brasov on the occasion of the common action with the honorary consul of Poland in Brasov- Janusz Szalinksi, regarding the commemoration of the Polish Altar from Timișul de Sus. Among others, the group of the Polish Union in Bucharest also went to the Roman Catholic Cathedral in the city center, where the polish priest Henryk Urban together with the parish priest of the church, held a memorial service..

The Union of Poles in Romania was set up in Bucharest at 16 March 1990 Under the name of the Polish Union of Romania "Dom Polski" at the initiative of a group of Poles in Bucharest.

Currently it includes 14 local organizations, and Union's headquarters are in the Polish house in Suceava built in the years 1903-1907 and regained by the Poles, after the years of communism, in the year 1996. The Union of Poles in Romania is represented in the Romanian Parliament by a deputy chosen by vote. The President of the Polish Union of Romania, as well as the Executive Bureau are elected at the Congress of the Poles Union in Romania.

The Union of Poles is the only organization of Poles in Romania. It includes Polish communities in Bucovina, From the villages of Suceava county, as well as the Poles spread in the country living in the big cities such as Bucharest, Constant, Iasi etc.. The Union activates, mainly, for the purpose of preserving and cultivating traditions, Learning of the Polish language, Maintaining ties with Poland and show care for Polish communities in Romania.

They are currently 14 local organizations: Bucharest, Constant, Iasi, Suceava, lace, Rada, Vicşani, Soloneţu Nou, Cacica, Pleşa, Poiana Micului, Sycamore, The mouth of Humorului, Mill. The headquarters of the Polish Union in Romania, from 1991, is the Polish House in Suceava. Commemoration of the polish altar in Timisul de Sus

On Wednesday, 30 th of July, there was a ceremony to commemorate the polish altar from Timișul de Sus, attended by several representatives of Poland in Romania - representatives of the Polish Consulate in Brasov, Representatives of the Polish Consulate and Embassy in Bucharest but also members of the Polish Union in Bucharest.

At the location of this altar, A wreath was laid by the consul of Poland in Bucharest-Artur Tarasewicz and the consul of Poland from Brașov-Janusz Szalski, followed by a prayer officiated by polish priest Henryk Urban.

The Holy Liturgy in polish took place at the SF Catholic Church. Teresa from Timișul de Sus with the help of the nuns that are living there permanently and maintain that wonderful place.

During World War II, approximate 600 of young poles arrived, in the fall of the year 1939, In Timișul de Sus in Brasov County. During their stay here, the refugees built a catholic shrine dedicated to the Virgin Mary. After staying for several months in Timișul de Sus, young polish refugees enlisted in allied troops against the Hitler or went to the West or Turkey. Hearing about the construction of this altar built by the refugees from Timiș Colonel Beck in exile in Brasov made time to leave the ARO apartments to visit the camp of his nationals and pray to this small altar..

The monument is located on a hill above the YMCA camp in Timişul de Sus, camp which was founded in 1919, at the initiative of Queen Mary. The cultural activities organized during the interwar period by YMCA Romania were numerous: room music concerts, Concerts at the Romanian Athenaeum, Creation camps, symposiums and cenacles.

Renovation and maintenance, they are constantly taking place at this altar with the help and common support between the Poland Consulate in Brasov and the representatives of the Polish military contingents that are within the Infantry Battalion "Neagoe Basarab from Craiova.
