On 11 th of August, the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Poland in Brașov, Mr. Janusz Szalinski, participated in the ceremony occasioned by the transfer of authority of the military contingents from Poland, rotation 12th with rotation 13th . The event took place within the Battalion 26 infantry “Neagoe Basarab” from Craiova where the polish military are stationed for a period of approx 6 months having the role of strengthening security on the South-East flank of NATO and on the entire North-Atlantic Alliance.
Among the guests were representatives of polish diplomacy, local authorities and representatives of the romanian armies but also of other countries such as France, Portugal and North Macedonia. The operational commander was represented by col. Mariusz Kasprzyk. The most important moment of the ceremony was the handing over of the flag of the Republic of Poland by the commander of the XII rotation Major Katarzyna Lachowicz – to the major of the XIII rotation, Damian Gronk as a symbol of the presence of the Polish Armed Forces on romanian land..
