On 12 September, a commemoration took place in Zizin, for the polish royal painter Tadeusz Ajdukiewicz and members of his family, who lived in the locality for an extended period.
At the event that took place in the Evangelical Cemetery in Zizin, the representatives of the polish authorities in Romania took part, Mrs Natalia Mosor – Director of the Polish Cultural Institute in Bucharest; Mr. Janusz Szalinski – Honorary Consul of Poland in Brasov; Mr. Artur Tarasewicz – Consul General within the Embassy of Poland in Bucharest, as well as representatives of local authorities.
The commemoration service was officiated by the romanian-catholic priest Joszef Andras, evangelical priest Jeno Domokos and orthodox priest Petre Drăgan.
After the brief presentation of the life of the polish painter Tadeusz Ajdukiewicz, who was the painter of the Royal House of Romania, Mrs. Andra Dumitrescu, revealed unknown details of the life that the master and his family spent in Zizin. On this occasion, she also mentioned the Brasov painter Otto Brossek, who spent the last part of his life also in Zizin.
On this occasion, there was also a visit to the private museum "Căsuța Amintirilor" (Little House of Memories), followed by the identification of the mansion where the Ajdukiewicz family lived and the painting workshop of the master.
The event was organized by Mrs. Andra Dumitrescu together with the help of the villagers from Zizin.
