Harvest Festival, an event that brings together Poles from Bukovina – 4 sept. 2021

The 16th edition of an event has already become a tradition in Solonețu Nou, Harvest Festival, started on Saturday at time 16.00. As same as always, it was an explosion of joy, of colors, Polish traditional music, in which both people from Bucovina participated, but also guests from Poland and the country. The guests arrived at the church from Solonețu Nou with carts flanked by horsemen, and the parish priest Stanislav Cucharec greeted them with bread and salt. The liturgy followed, officiated by several priests, led by Bishop Wieslaw Lechowicz, Delegate of the Polish Episcopal Conference for the Pastoral Care of Polish Emigrants and Iosif Păuleț, bishop of Iasi. At the end of the liturgy, the people headed for the Dom Polski headquarters, where they attended an artistic program offered by the ensembles "Solonczanka", from Solonețu Nou, “Mala Pojana”, from Poiana Micului, but also by the popular children's group "Kozinianie", from the Polish commune of Mucharz, locality twinned with the Humor Monastery.

Among the guests who arrived in Solonețu Nou were the soldiers of the ninth exchange from the contingent stationed in Craiova, led by Major Robert Andrzejak. Among those who accepted the invitation to participate in this year's edition of the Road Festival event were the prefect of Suceava, Iulian Cimpoeșu, the mayor of Cacica, Petru Todosi, but also the mayor of the Humor Monastery, Viorel Croitoru. The Polish delegation included members of the local administration from Mucharz commune, on the consul of the Republic of Poland in Bucharest, Jarosvlav Szkirpan, deputy director of the Polish Institute in Bucharest, Wojciech Mrozowski, but also the honorary consul of the Republic of Poland in Brașov, Mr. Janusz Szalinski. https://www.monitorulsv.ro/Local/2021-09-06/Sarbatoarea-Roadelor
